Timberline Lodge and Ski Area offers North America’s only year-round ski season as well as the most vertical feet (3,590) of ski terrain in the Pacific Northwest. Just up the road is Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort, which covers more than 2,000 acres and has an incredible 500-foot-long superpipe. Mt. Hood SkiBowl (the nation’s largest night skiing area), Summit Ski Area, and Cooper Spur Ski and Recreation Center are good bets for beginning skiers, as they offer mild runs and a range of activities, including tubing and sleigh rides. Trails and equipment for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling are also available on Mt. Hood. There are several well-groomed Sno-Parks: Glacier View, Summit and Snow Bunny Lodge among others. Visit www.mthoodterritory.com or call 888.622.4822 for more information.
