This historic 1915 elementary school stood empty for years and was scheduled for demolition until the McMenamin brothers renovated it into one of Portland's most unique destinations, recently named "#1 Quirkiest Inn in the U.S." by TripAdvisor readers. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner made with fresh, seasonal ingredients in the Courtyard Restaurant or order a handcrafted ale made steps away in the pink-tiled brewery (once the little girls' room!). Do time in the Detention Bar with a whiskey, catch up on homework (using their free WiFi) in the Honors Bar with a fresh-juice cocktail, or take recess outside on the patio at the Cypress Room bar.
